How we use data

Effective 4 October 2026. This information covers the public AI Index search and the listing enquiry form. You can contact the controller at the email above to exercise your rights.

Search and suggestions

As you type at least two characters, your query and country context are sent to our servers for catalogue suggestions. Submitting a query sends its text and selected language and location context to retrieve search results. The page URL contains the query and may remain in your browser history or a link you share. Our hosting infrastructure receives technical request information, such as IP address, URL, browser data and time. Approximate location may be inferred from the connection; you can change the location in a query. Do not put sensitive personal details in a search.

We use this limited information to answer the search you request and operate and secure the service. Our proposed legal basis is legitimate interests under GDPR Article 6(1)(f): providing relevant results and protecting the service. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. We must complete and document the balancing assessment before claiming this basis is fully established.

Recent searches

Your browser stores up to eight recent searches locally. They remain until replaced, cleared using “Clear history” in suggestions, or removed with your browser site data; there is no automatic time expiry. This browser list is not an account or a cross-device profile. Clearing it does not clear your browser history or hosting logs.

Enquiries

The listing form prepares an email in your browser; it does not automatically submit the form to us. If you choose to send it, we receive the company, website, reply address, markets, message and paid-placement preference in our Google-hosted mailbox. We use these details to review and reply to your request. The proposed legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering voluntary enquiries, or steps you request before a potential agreement where applicable. Do not include sensitive documents. No payment is collected by this form.

Merchant visits and optional external search

For eligible merchant links we record a random click identifier, offer, time, language and market context for attribution and reporting. The identifier may be passed to a partner network, which can redirect you to a merchant. That network and merchant then receive your request and may process connection details under their own notices. The proposed legal basis for our limited attribution record is our legitimate interest in measuring referrals and reconciling reports. You can use search without following a merchant link.

If an external web-search provider is configured, a query and country/language context may be sent to it to return an additional result. If no provider is configured, the feature is unavailable. Public search currently provides source-based catalogue text; it does not make decisions about your legal rights or similarly significant matters solely by automated processing.

Recipients and locations

Our recipients or recipient categories include Vercel for hosting and technical delivery, Google for email when you send us a message, configured search providers when that feature runs, and partner networks and merchants when you follow their links. Our private TEXTORA system processes catalogue queries and attribution under the same operator. Authorities may receive information where legally required.

The operator is in Russia, outside the EEA. Providers or their subprocessors may also process information outside the EEA. Applicable transfer mechanisms and copies of any safeguards have not yet been verified for every flow; request current details from the contact above. We do not claim that all processing stays in the EEA.

How long data remains

Local recent searches follow the rule above. Search URLs may stay in your browser history until you remove them. Application click and report records, query fingerprints and cached provider results currently have no verified automatic deletion period. Hosting logs and email correspondence follow provider settings and operational needs that still require a documented retention schedule. Email us to request deletion or the current retention details, subject to any applicable legal obligation.

Your choices and rights

Under applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability of personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. If we later use consent for a purpose, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. We do not treat visiting the site as consent to optional tracking. You may complain to a data protection authority, including one in the EEA country where you live or work or where you believe an infringement occurred. Write to the contact email above with enough information to locate a relevant record, without sending unnecessary identity documents.

Searching and visiting a merchant are optional; no law or contract requires you to give us a search query. Without one, we cannot return matching search results. The enquiry form's required fields are needed only to prepare a useful reply; you can choose not to send the draft. Merchants handle purchases and their own checkout data.
